:Luminescence celebrates the freedom our faith provides for seeking our own personal truth while honoring the many paths our faith offers for attaining spiritual fulfillment.

One of the purposes for the holiday is that while Unitarian Universalists (UUs) enjoy celebrating our own versions of the holidays that were originally from other faiths -- and we don’t want to stop celebrating them -- many of us we feel it is also important for Unitarian Universalism that we also develop our own holidays so that we can celebrate our identity. There is so much to celebrate that is uniquely UU. We hope that this will be the first of a rich palette of holidays of our own.  In this section, you'll find text for the service as well as a detailed description of the Luminescence candelabrum that acts as the centerpiece for the service, and more information about when to celebrate the Luminescence holiday.
